I think this is a big win all around. Netflix outbid Fox Sports and
Telemundo so that means more money for the development of women’s football.
In men’s international tournaments Fox would show games over the air until
the US was eliminated and then push them all to FS1 until the final. If
someone wants to follow Argentina or France and watch all of their games
they just need Netflix and a schedule.

As cable declines its audience is going to get smaller and older and any
sport that wants to grow its following among young people is going to have
to find a way to be available streaming.
