I remember when it played in the U.S., Westinghouse re-edited it and added
a laugh track (I have seen some of the original episodes and the show did
not have a laugh track in Canada).

It only ran for one year in the U.S. and in Chicago was on WSNS, the
weakest of the UHF stations that did general audience programming in those
days. It's now owned by NBCU and is Chicago's Telemundo station.
