I have Direct TV and only some of the local channels are rebroadcast in HD, and
some of the local sub channels are not available on Direct TV.
An off air antenna will give a better picture and more channels, but on a
motorhome that may be more hassle than you want.

I would like to know if it is possible to get HD TV programming without
suscribing? I recently upgraded my roof mounted Direct TV dish for a Direct
Slimline model. The reason was that when in a windy area I would loose the
signal. The serviceman installed the dish, a HDDVR, and thicker cables in the
motorhome. When I turned the TV on I got HD on the local channels. The regular
signal is on the premeim stations HD only on Local. Can anyone help me? Thank
