Hi Sumit: Any distro (Fedora, SuSe, Mandrake etc.) that you pick up is essentially packaging of the products, tools and patches together to release a final product. MySQL software available from mysql.org is packaged by most of the distro vendors in different formats - .tbz, .rpm, .deb etc. Since you are keen to install MySQL from the sources, please point your browser to the right url ie. MySQL http://www.mysql.org/downloads/mysql/5.0.html Some installation details are available at http://www.mysql.org/doc/refman/5.0/en/linux-rpm.html It helps to make a list of the software you would need for the complete setup of MySQL. Hope this helps. thanks Saifi. ===================================================== Mark your calendar for the next TSM Saturday (5pm - 7pm) on 2nd September 2006 Linux Install Fest - Debian Linux - Fedora Core 5 Venue: AppLabs Technologies Pvt Ltd. 3rd Floor, 3XL Conference Room Opp K.B.R.
