Subject: [twincling] mysql or oracle - development with .net

  Hi,

Which one do you prefer mysql or oracle for an application to be developed in
.net.
I would be looking for the ease of development, support and speed. Also if
possible, please provide faqs/links as to why you support one of them.
I know that sql server will be a good option but we cannot afford it.

  Thanks,
  sai.

  Mr.Sai,

You can download MS-SQL express edition. This is free for development from
Microsoft.

  http://msdn2.microsoft.com/hi-in/express/bb410792.aspx (needs some
registration - give some invalid info)

This handles most of the development requests.

Here, the point - which database is "good" is not answered. The "good"ness of
a database depends on the type of application we are going to develop in
future. We cannot just rely on something which is freely available, or
something which has good technical support. A technical architect who has
worked with all the databases is right point of contact.

  Thankyou
  Mahen
