Has anybody tried Linux/FreeBSD or purchased this laptop ?

Compaq Presario V3611 AU:

    AMD Athlon X2 TK55/
    512 MB RAM 
    120 GB HDD
    DVDRW/Wireless/Free DOS/
    14" WXGA BV

I'm trying to move away from Intel completely and this laptop 
has an attractive price point of 32K.

Please share your observations vis-a-vis Linux installation.
