I have worked out with presently with netbeans 6 rc2,and netbeans 6 too.U should have jdk and jre latest release atleast,To install even.So u have to firstly get the jdk 6.0 (java SE development kit 6.0)and next then u need to install netbeans of ur desired version.It will definitely works.Try this thing,and i am working with too now.
