Hi Nikhil! Virtualbox or for that matter any other virtualization package will not run on a 512 ram machine. I mean satisfactoriy. This is cuz you are using the userspace of the host Os to run the guest os. This implies that the host will take the ram it needs for its operation. Add to that the ram for the guest os. If this is greater than abt 60% of your total ram your machine will not start it.
Try this. Download the DSL(Damn Small Linux) imnage from the web. It is abt 50 megs and can run from about 32MB ram. This should work fine for you have enough memory to run both OSes. Regards Navneet
