I would suggest using dedicated systems at both ends, workstation class (i.e. enterprise grade hardware for 24x7 duty) desktop will do. openVPN (www.openvpn.org) is quite popular and has ample docs. at the site. Search/Join it's mailing list if you need in depth help in setup. Alternately, you can download the community version of Untangle. It comes with openVPN, proxy server and more as an integrated package and all configured via a browser interface. -- Arun Khan
