Hi Vijayalakshmi:

Samba is a platform for sharing resources over a network.

if you have a dual boot system ie. one partition is windows and
another partition is BSD/Linux, you would need to install the
appropriate driver to access the partition.

eg. on Windows side you install 
              ext2/ext3 driver for Linux
              ufs driver for BSD

    on BSD/Solaris/Linux side you install
             ntfs-3g driver for windows

Since i don't use Windows at all, i'm not in a position to state
how well the "write" support is !
