  This is a known issue and we have it on our list of things to fix.
For the curious, this is because search was built using the XMPP
public timeline and that data feed did not include deletes. We would
like deleted messages to be deleted everywhere possible so we'll be
adding that in the future. Keep an eye out for announcements on this
list.
