Honestly, the only time you're ever going to know the total count for a
home_timeline is if the user is following zero users (resulting in zero
tweets on their home_timeline).

While that's a little hyperbolic, it's best to think of timeline resources
(like home_timeline, user_timeline, mentions, etc.) as not having an end or
total count. There's always just "more."
