What's the difference between count and rpp?

https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1/get/search

It says ||  rpp no of tweets to be returned. Isn't that the same
function as count? And why is there still count as an example request?

Example Requests
GET 
http://search.twitter.com/search.json?q=Twitter%20API&result_type=mixed&count=5

This misleads and confuses.
