=== Doctoral Symposium at ECOOP ===
ECOOP is a conference about programming originally focused on object
orientation, but now including all practical and theoretical investigations of
programming languages, systems and environments.
The ECOOP Doctoral Symposium provides a forum for PhD students at any stage in
their research to get detailed feedback and advice. The objectives of this
event are to:
- Allow students to practice writing clearly and present their research
effectively.
- Receive constructive feedback from experienced researchers and peers.
- Offer opportunities to form research collaborations.
- Interact with other researchers at ECOOP and associated events.
=== Submission Categories ===
We solicit three categories of submissions:
- Early-stage PhD students: a two-page research proposal with a problem
description, a sketch of a proposed approach, and a summary of relevant related
work. It is not necessary to present concrete results.
- Later-stage PhD Students: a four-page research statement with a problem
description, goal statement, method, and preliminary work. Submissions should
focus on the research method rather than technical details.
- Job talks: a biography (written in the third person and similar to the short
bios used on academic websites or for speaker announcements) and a brief
summary of the job talk (written in a style appropriate for a general computer
science audience).
=== Travel and Attendance Support Grants ===
ECOOP 2025 and AITO (aito.org) offer a limited number of free student
registrations and limited student travel support for ECOOP 2025.
