Common Prefix is a blockchain research & development company. We combine
formal scientific research with production-grade engineering: our team
publishes in top-tier peer-reviewed venues and builds open-source
infrastructure used across major blockchain ecosystems. We have contributed
to systems including Axelar, XRPL, Sui, and Flashbots.
We are hiring a full-time Formal Verification Engineer to work on the
specification and verification of complex blockchain protocols and
financial systems. The role involves developing mathematical models,
proving key safety and correctness properties, constructing machine-checked
proofs, and connecting formal analyses to real-world protocol
implementations. Our primary verification environment is Lean4, a
dependently typed proof assistant.
We are particularly interested in candidates with strong backgrounds in
formal methods, theorem proving, program verification, distributed systems,
programming languages, or related areas. Experience with tools such as
Lean, Coq, F*, Isabelle, TLA+, or similar frameworks is highly relevant.
Prior blockchain experience is welcome but not required.
The position is fully remote worldwide, with the option to work on-site in
Athens, Greece. Compensation ranges from $76,000 to $171,000 per year
before tax, is not adjusted by location, and comes with equity and
performance-based bonuses.
