I did and it did not solve the problem - which is why I thought that
it wasn't a ttnews problem, but rather a problem with php.

In fact, I upgraded to ttnews 2.5.0 from ttnews 2.4.0 after
discovering that no categories were saved. I figured that I needed
ttnews 2.5.0 with my newly upgraded php version...

Has no one else had this problem?

- could it be a conflict with another extension?
