Hello Bernd & David > A ship can't be parked in a garage for cars.
Very nice analogy. Unfortunately, I would not see that the Association can do anything about this type of misleading advertising. I believe the only way to change the situation is for developers to face clients with reality. I find I often must educate the client on why TYPO3 must be served by a qualified host. There are many qualified, affordable hosts available. If they insist on using a substandard host, I do one of two things. 1) If I feel the host can be brought up to spec, then I will take the project but first inform the client that I will be charging more because of the added time it will take work with the host. 2) If, as in your case, the host cannot be brought up to spec, I decline the project since they are asking me to do the impossible. If they really want TYPO3, they will be back since no one can do the project properly with those restrictions and they will soon come to understand l have told them the truth. Trying to use TYPO3 without IM or GM is foolish. Not being able to install extensions is totally insane.
