Hi, I had a similar problem with a T3 installation. I noticed that Apache was configured with many aliases.
I couldn't find the exact cause of this bug. Anyway this install of typo3 was not securized. So I changed the permissions to secure it (check http://dmitry-dulepov.com/e-books/typo3-installation-and-upgrade.html) and by the way this bug dissapeared. strange...
