The code u have given seems to be correct. it even works fine without
orderBy and max .
So i recommend u to check your typoscript where u have assigned
lib.homeimagerotator.
lib.homeimagerotator = CONTENT
lib.homeimagerotator{
table = tt_content
select {
pidInList = 3550
where = uid=10346
}
}
