I just checked. There is absolutely no sys_dmail installed at all, we don't
use direct mail on this sites.
I tired to run the extension update but am receiving this.
Extension list updated
The extensions list has been updated and now contains 0 extension entries.
Does this now mean the TYPO3.org server has 0 extensions when the "updated"
list contains 0 entries. Its a bit confusing! I checked with some other
sites and they have over 4200 entries

under Linux you could search for sys_dmail in your folder typo3conf/ext/
with grep, under windows I use
http://www.digitalvolcano.co.uk/content/textcrawler
to search for Text in Files and Folders.
Another way: Go in Installtool and verify the database there, you should
find the extension with this command with some search.
Concerning the Extension-Update try it another time - in the european
nighttime it's beeing updated sometimes and is not reachable or has
wrong results.
