GIFBUILDER currently can't handle Alpha-Channels/32bit PNG
So usually you should render the background and the text together, which can
give you quite good results.

problem is that the background color has to be switchable in the
frontend- without page reload.
would be a great improvement IMO to have this feature. not the first
time i need it...
