as soon as you have created a draft (workspace) version of a record
changes in the live record will NOT influence your draft record anymore.
If the draft record doen't contain any chages you need you might just
delete it (the record version in draft ws), then the live record will be
in use in the draft workspace again.
changing a record in draft and live at the same time will always give
you a hard time as there is no way to "merge" these changes. So you
should adhere to either edit a record in draft ws and publish it to
live, or just edit the records in live.
