The problem Christian describes can be solved by deleting extensions.xml.gz in the typo3temp. Probably there is 1.extensions.xml.gz this one should also be deleted. When you now retreive an update of the extension repository al the extensions are loaded.
I tried that but it doesn't work. The file is recreated, but the problem persists.
