Hi! I can assure you that the Core itself does not reference tt_news in any way. (Yes there's some TS stuff which does some tt_news stuff, but physical extension is never referenced.)
I guess one of your extensions must be the root cause. Try disabling them all and enable them one by one to find the culprit.
