[TYPO3-english] Extension Media uploading large number of files

We have a 6.1 site in development, modeled after the TYPO3 Bootstrap 
Demo, and need to import several hundred images into a logical folder 
structure within /fileadmin.

What is the procedure for including them in the Media database? I'm 
afraid there is no documentation for media that I can find.
