The *Golden Star* published a related op-ed on the controversy last week:

Indeed, an agenda for next Tuesday's town council meeting in Golden, BC was
published today, and it seems there will at least be some further
discussion on the topic of timekeeping:
https://golden.civicweb.net/Portal/MeetingInformation.aspx?Org=Cal&Id=1433

Item 7.D deals with correspondence received in response to the council's 1
September decision to break from RDEK and Alberta's timekeeping and stay on
year-round UTC−7 with the rest of BC. The summary counts "268 letters (393
pages) in opposition to decision, expressing concerns or requesting
reconsideration" and "30 letters (42 pages) in support".

Item 7.E deals with a formal petition that has been lodged requesting the
council reconsider its 1 September decision, in which the petition
coordinator reports that they had collected 2,395 signatures, beginning as
quickly as the very next day. While some percentage were collected outside
of Golden proper, it is worth noting that Statistics Canada puts Golden's
population as of 2021 at 3,986.

Together, the two items and their accompanying documentation comprise 656
pages of the 838-page agenda package for the meeting (!)
