I tried the same steps with export arch=armv4 and armv4t as well which didn't make any difference.

Can someone point me into the right direction? I would prefer stay with this toolchain, because I need to support a fairly old LINUX and userland with it and just wanna update the u-boot on my SCB9328 to get rid of some issues with newer JFFS2 flags not supported by my current 1.12 uboot on the board.

I just tested: uboot 2014.01 compiles with the same settings and toolchain. So I guess it broke somewhere in between. I can try to pinpoint it if it helps.
