I wonder if you are still connected to the UART exposed on J16 where you have to solder on the connector? The UARTs on the low speed connector can be easily accessed with this daughter board https://www.96boards.org/products/mezzanine/uarts/ It is useful to have both connected, as depending on what versions of ATF, U-Boot and kernel you use, you may get output on both UARTS, and things will appear to not work. > and nothing more, the board hangs - much before U-Boot is started.
