If you read the thread you can see that both Heikos tests and other testers who tried that code see dramatic speed improvements due to enabling the cache; in addition to that we win all the flexibility of RAM usage we are used to from other architectures. So the last big remaining thing that needs to be added is to add device tree support and get rid of these stupid ATAGs and MACHIDs. Fortunately work on this front in on the way as well.
