Sorry for asking some probably really dumb questions... If I understand correctly, there is no fundamental reason why the DFU protocol would only be possible to implement over a USB link. Or am I missing something here? Eventually it should be possible to run this protocol over Ethernet or even over a serial line? If my assumption is correct, then what would it take to split off protocol part and make it independent of the actual driver interface?
