Im not sure about the posix version. What is it that is missing ? I might
be able to tell you how to get what it is that you need. We are running AS
2.1 and I am not a guru, but I can get around enough to be dangerous.

Subject: [U2] Where can I find out about RPM package updates?

I'm trying to track down a solution to a little problem in our application
when it runs on RedHat Enterprise AS 2.1.

The application is executing "who -Hu" and parsing the output. The trouble
is, it appears this version of Linux does not include a POSIX compliant
version of "who". I've checked RedHat 9 and this version seems to be fine.

I'm only casually familiar with the Linux and RedHat world, so I'm not sure
if I'm "barking up the right tree". I hope there is someone in U2 land that
can quickly point me in the right direction.

I believe there is a possibility an updated version of the "coreutils" RPM
package for RedHat Enterprise 2.1 AS might provide a POSIX compliant version
of "who". I went to www.rpmfind.com looking for a newer "coreutils" package
for this version of RedHat, but I didn't find anything. I saw plenty of
"coreutils" packages on the web-site, but I'm assuming that if unless a
specific package is not listed with the RedHat distribution I'm working with
the package is not compatible.

Can anyone give me a little nudge in the right direction to figure out
whether or not there is a newer "coreutils" that will work with RedHat AS
2.1?
