- There are occasionally limits on the size of the domain name, which is
included in the total for the query string.

RFC3696 (which collates information from other RFCs) places the following limitations on a hostname from DNS:


A DNS label (the parts of a domain name delimited by '.') may not be longer than 63 octets.

A complete fully qualified domain name cannot be longer than 255 octets.

Probably nothing to do with the CallHTTP  problem, but useful to know.
