The suggestion made by Ray using uvbackup as a check of files is the philosophy we have adopted after experiencing this type of corruption. We run this every Saturday night over all our files and email the result reporting any likely problems. Our corruption, which has been confirmed to be the same as this situation, involved the result of the "SELECT" being written to the file being queried, instead of the Capture file. This takes the form similar to "925 items selected" This text is where the next address should be so it is a very invalid address. I had a case open with IBM for this but I don't think they managed to reproduce it. I believe it to be an AIX problem, which has not repeated since we upgraded from AIX 4.3.3 to AIX 5.2.
