Clif,

I believe there is a patch (or a patched version of the appropriate
client ".dll" file) available from IBM if you ask them nicely.  This
restores the former functionality.  I'm pretty sure I got that
information from a previous post on this list.
We will be in the same boat, we have gazillions of DTS packages which
log in from an MS SQL Server, using a minimal-rights user & password put
in at the ODBC Client installation time.  We will need that patch when
we go to 10.1, in fact I can't see how we'd use 10.1 without it, our
entire MOLAP functionality would vanish. :-(
