Hi Simon At DB2 Information Management Conference, IBM announced a new extension to UniVerse: U2 Soap Server. It is definitely the way to go for integration with .NET. As it fully supports WSDL, it plugs very nicely into Visual Studio 2003/2005. And Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is the future!
The only disadvantage: It takes until August 2006 until it is available as part of UniVerse 10.2. But maybe IBM gives you an early version for beta testing? Give it a try! We are currently evaluating five mechanisms for accessing UniVerse data: * UVODBC * RedBack * PDP.NET (http://www.rainingdata.com/products/connect/dotnet/index.html) * MV.NET (http://bluefinity.com/) * UniConduit (http://www.conduitit.hostecom.com/Products.htm) Does anyone have any experience with these products that would be useful for us to know? Thanks.
