There could be lots of good reasons for files to be there if you are running on Unix. There could be log files for whatever, maybe the 'uvspool' directory is pointed there ?, there could be script files that running via cron for automation. If users have your account as their home directory, then there could be clutter from that situation. Maybe if you post what some of those unknown files look like, someone might be able to identify them as such and such.
