YES - but we would have to open the explicity/correct 'Multifile' to read and write - the programs would not 'know' to put HISTORY orders in the HISTORY part and ACTIVE orders in the ACTIVE part. UniVerse can do this natively - not something we UniData'ers have a choice on. As well, all MULTIFILES **share** a dictionary, but are not seen as one large logical file as in UniVerse.
Eveyone has the 'MultiFile' stuff - we had it in R83! But UniVerse's Part File I think is fairly unique.
