It could also be a mismatch of the terminal settings. I've not used Accuterm but in Dynamic Connect, we can set the backspace character to be Char(8) or Char(127) and if it's not set to the right one for the terminal emulation, we can get the keyboard scan code.
Is the garbage characters always the same when you press the backspace key, Joe? Are you using Universe or Unidata? In Universe, the command TERM by itself will give you the current environment settings, including what the backspace character is expected to be. Many Unix and Linux systems are not set up to correctly filter controls like backspace until *after* you log in and your environment is set up. You need to set your system to do the pre-login filtering. - Chuck Joseph Ruiz wrote: > Sometimes when I open an Accuterm 2k2 session and start > A program and I need to back space I get garbage characters. > Does anyone have any idea how to solve this problem? > Thanks, > Joe > ------- > u2-users mailing list > u2-users@listserver.u2ug.org > To unsubscribe please visit http://listserver.u2ug.org/ > > -- Charles Barouch ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) www.KeyAlly.com (718) 762-3884 x 1 P.
