We have used both distributed file and 64 bit file on various systems. The
only issues that we encountered are

1. For the 64 bit file, on a retrieve statement, it seems to have a very big
impact on overall system performance, particularly in memory.

2. For the distributed file, you must create the indices on all the
part-files. You can use the access statement to select items based on the
index field. However, if you use BSCAN to select all items matching a
particular index, you will need to run BSCAN on each part-file.

Subject: [U2] Distributed files poll

How many sites use distributed files? Any issues you have with them?
Do they impact system performance?

Which would you prefer, a distributed file or a 64-Bit file to get
around the 2 gig limit.
