Thanks David, The attributes ATT2 etc, I used are defined as single-valued D types. I have also tried using the keyword 'SINGLEVALUED'. It (UV/SQL) just seems to be aware of the multivalue marks and won't clear them. For the moment I have gone with creating a new item and updating it with the attributes I want to keep from the old item. Stuart
