This is one of my biggest complaints about U2; users aren't in the database. We host our application for numerous clients and we're compelled to manage all users, groups, and passwords ourselves instead of allowing our users to do it! After being exposed to both ways I can honestly say the benefits far outweigh the costs when user information resides in the dbms, not in Windows!

This is essentially what happens in our UniObjects connectivity (one user ID, many users). We even find that DesignBais allows this too!

Hi David

Couple of things to check
- there is a login semaphore which might not be getting released.

- sometimes iterating through active directory credentials can take forever
if there is a deep hierarchy, especially if the credentials are being
retrieved over a wan.

Subject: Re: [U2] UniVerse haning after putting password in (win2003)

Has anyone experienced a situation where UniVerse hangs after you enter user
name and password has been entered. We had this problem with uniObjects and
then I tested the telnet and this is the situation I discovered. When we
do a reboot the problem seems to clearaway. This is running on a windows
server

David
