The problem for me is that I don't always restart the server when we
restart UniVerse. I do think I have come up with a solution however.
I'm going to go with the uptime of the uvdlockd process...

# ps -p $(ps -ef | grep uvdlockd | grep -v grep | awk '{print $2}') -o
etime
    ELAPSED
   10:38:40

Which seems about right since I restarted UniVerse last night just after
11pm. Can anyone think of a gotcha on this approach?

Thanks.

Perry

'who -b' will tell you the date and time AIX restarted last.

For us, if AIX is up, Unidata is up ...

Interesting question...

Don't know how accurate it would be but on my box /usr/uv/VOC has a
timestamp of the last time I brought uv up.

I'll be interested to see what others have to say on this.
