But how does it manage things "under the hood"? That's the BIG problem
with all relational databases, and one of the places U2 scores - it does
NOT hide implementation detail behind a "you don't need to know this" flag.

It's easy to store all the documents in a type 1 file, and then manage
the metadata elsewhere in U2.
