Hi, My name is Adam Hunter and I am a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. My research is to do with the productivity improvement in welding engineering through the use of IT. For the last year and a half I have been getting deeper into the details of applying what appears to be a fantastic technology, to welding engineering - and more specifically the problem of selecting the lowest cost parameters for welding. I am of course referring to Bayesian Networks. I am now at the stage where I feel that I can progress only slowly without the ability to "bounce" my ideas off experts in the field of Bayesian networks. Therefore I am now looking for opportunities that will allow me to enhance my knowledge of Bayesian Networks. I now ask if anybody on this mailing list has a position available within their research group for myself in which for an approx. 6 month period I may provide some assistance. In return I hope to learn more about Bayesian Networks and as a result publish a number of journal articles before final submission of my thesis. If you would like more information about myself (i.e. CV, Details of research) please feel free to contact me. Thanks in advance for your consideration.
