The newly founded Caesarea Edmond Benjamin de Rothschild Institute at the
University of Haifa is pleased to announce its Second Workshop on
Interdisciplinary Applications of Graph Theory, Combinatorics and
Algorithms to be held June 17-20, 2002 in Haifa, Israel. The Workshop will

        Robert Tarjan (Princeton University)
will deliver the second annual Rothschild Lecture

  Invited Plenary Speakers:

        Robert Connelly (Cornell University, Ithaca)
        Allan Hartman (IBM Research, Haifa)
Alan Hoffman (IBM Research, Yorktown Heights)
        Alon Itai (Technion, Haifa)

  Call-for-Papers:

A limited number of short research talks are solicited which emphasize the
diversity of the use of combinatorial algorithms and graph theory in
application areas. Examples of such areas include

        Networking Web applications
        Approximation Algorithms Internet Conjestion
        Geometric Graphs Computational Geometry
        Intersection Graphs On-line Algorithms
        Applied Combinatorics Computational Biology
        Combinatorial Algorithms Optimization
Graphic Theoretical Models Applications in Engineering
        Perfect Graphs Everything Else

A special session on Computational Geometry will be coordinated by Joseph
Zaks, and one on Structured Families of Graphs such as tolerance graphs,
interval probe graphs, threshold graphs, etc. will be coordinated by Uri Peled.

Extended abstracts or full papers should be sent to: Martin Golumbic
[EMAIL PROTECTED] no later than April 12, 2002. Notification of
acceptance for presentation will be by April 30, 2002. An edited
collection of selected and fully refereed papers based on the
presentations, to be published in the journal Discrete Applied Mathematics,
will be discussed at the workshop.

  Call-for-Special Sessions:

Those who may want to arrange a special session or a working group meeting
at the Caesarea Rothschild Institute during or around the dates of the
Workshop, are welcome to contact the organizers.
