I would like to thank those who replied to my query concerning the use of decision analysis. The most accessible source showing such use seems to be the work of Ralph Keeney. Besides his 1976 book, he has done much more recent work. He sent my 4 papers including one written in 1996 that uses an influence diagram. I would forward these papers to anyone who is interested.
