** ACM/IEEE A. Richard Newton Technical Impact Award in Electronic Design
Automation
(https://ieee-ceda.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a56289c418698825973a992ba&id=3284101730&e=99ff097940)
------------------------------------------------------------
The A. Richard Newton Technical Impact Award in Electronic Design Automation is
sponsored by the IEEE Council on EDA and the ACM Special Interest Group on
Design Automation to honor a person or persons for an outstanding technical
contribution within the scope of electronic design automation, as evidenced by
a paper published at least ten years before the presentation of the award. The
nomination can be made by anyone who is familiar with the individual’s or
group’s work.
The award is based on the impact of the paper in the field of electronic design
automation published ten years or more before the year the award is presented.
The paper must have passed through a peer-review process before publication, be
an archived conference or journal publication available from or published by
either ACM or IEEE, and be a seminal paper where an original idea was first
described. Follow-up papers and extended descriptions of the work may be cited
in the nomination, but the award is given for the initial original contribution.

Nominations should be submitted using our online form
(https://ieee-ceda.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a56289c418698825973a992ba&id=7a6863bec7&e=99ff097940)
by 5:00 p.m. February 01, 2019. Before you complete the online form you must
have the following information and supporting documents to complete the
nomination:
* Name, affiliation, and contact information of nominating individual
* The nominated paper and authors to be honored, including their biographical
information, professional activities, publications, and other
recognitions/awards
* Proposed citation (which ACM SIGDA and IEEE CEDA may adjust)
* A pdf copy of the paper to upload with nomination form
* You will complete a description of the impact of the paper over at least a
ten- year period. Consider what advancements have been enabled by the ideas
presented in the paper. Include evidence of follow-up research as reflected in
citations, evidence of usage of the described technology in an industrial
setting, or evidence of starting new directions and/or spawning new ideas as
appropriate.

The ISLPED conference is a forum for presentation of innovative research in all
aspects of low power electronics and design, ranging from process technologies
and analog/digital circuits, simulation and synthesis tools, system-level
design and optimization, to system software and applications. The conference
features regular papers and posters, three keynote presentations, and an
industry reception. It also comprises a Design Contest with live demos which
encourages submissions from both academia and industry.
Important Deadlines:
Paper abstracts 25 February 2019
Full paper 04 March 2019

The Issues related to On-line testing techniques, and more generally to design
for robustness, are increasingly important in modern electronic systems. In
particular, the huge complexity of electronic systems has led to growth in
reliability needs in several application domains as well as pressure for low
cost products. There is a corresponding increasing demand for cost-effective
design for robustness techniques. These needs have increased dramatically with
the introduction of nanometer technologies, which impact adversely noise
margins; process, voltage and temperature variations; aging and wear-out; soft
error and EMI sensitivity; power density and heating; and make mandatory the
use of design for robustness techniques for extending, yield, reliability, and
lifetime of modern SoCs. Design for reliability becomes also mandatory for
reducing power dissipation, as voltage reduction, often used to reduce power,
strongly affects reliability by reducing noise margins and thus the sensitivity
to soft-errors and EMI, and by increasing circuit delays and thus the severity
of timing faults. There is also a strong relation between Design for
Reliability and Design for Security, as security attacks are often fault-based.
The International Symposium on On-Line Testing and Robust System Design (IOLTS)
is an established forum for presenting novel ideas and experimental data on
these areas.

The Symposium is sponsored by the IEEE Council on Electronic Design Automation
