UrduFake 2020: Fake News Detection in Urdu

Registration is open for the 1st Fake News Detection in Urdu workshop, a
task at FIRE 2020 and a CICLing 2020 activity. This open task will bring
together researchers interested in fake news detection and invite them to
develop algorithms to detect fake news in the Urdu language. See details on

AIMS AND SCOPE: The workshop aims to provide new solutions to combat fake
news in Urdu, as well as to create an inclusive environment to foster
collaboration.



TARGET AUDIENCE: This is an open task inviting participants from all
academic levels, including undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD students, as
well as experts working in the industry.

TASK: The organizers provide a set of news texts manually classified into
fake and true, and the participants are asked to develop the corresponding
classifiers. A team submits up to 3 different runs; the best run becomes
the final run.

PUBLICATION: Accepted papers will be published in the CEUR Workshop
Proceedings <http://ceur-ws.org/> (http://ceur-ws.org) as part of the FIRE
2020 proceedings.

IMPORTANT DATES:

- 30 June: Open Track websites and training data released

- 15 August: Test data released

- 30 August: Run submission deadline

- 15 September: Results announced

- 12 October: Working Notes submission

- 26 October: Review notification

- 2 November: Camera-ready deadline

- 16-20 December: the workshop (online)
