A much better, and cleaner solution is in the works. I was only last week 
working with the installer developers to work out a plan to make ubiquity (the 
installer), work by pressing enter on the desktop icon. This will be a little 
while in coming, but I will let everybody know when it lands, and can be tested.

There is also another feature in the planning stages, which allows you to load 
the live CD, and run the installer directly, with no desktop. Accessibility is 
going to be available on request for that mode as well.
