Yes, when setting up intrepid on a machine last week, I experienced this 
problem, and intend to look into it. Note you shouldn't need to use control + 
alt + backspace unless GNOME/X/Orca has totally frozen, and you can't log out 
safely.

Again, its known. Shortcut keys still work however, so you simply need to make 
sure the logout window has focus, and then press alt + L to log out.
